The
resorts offer a cute spot with one room with toys, television and possibly video
games. Often ages 4 to 12 are grouped together and care and activities are provided
by warm and friendly staff. Lots of families still have a great time. All-inclusive
resorts (typically in Mexico and the Caribbean) are especially popular with families
because they offer beach, water sports, extravagant swimming pools, kids' programs
(mostly from age 4-12) and family activities. They offer the gourmet dining, spa
facilities as well. Most of these properties have resorts within resorts so they
tend to be very large and spread out.
Club Med Resorts are
the leaders of fantastic programs for children of all ages including toddlers
and teens. Instruction and activities in circus school with trapeze, inline skating,
Hip Hop dance, archery, sailing, swimming, soccer, video and movie nights, the

offer spa services, more choices of dining (they were already gourmet prior to
the renovations), and updated deluxe rooms. The resorts are on a much smaller
scale ( 500-800 people) and yet they are usually on the prime piece of property

Condominiums are great for larger families but it
may restrict your choice of destinations. Hawaii, Florida and some Mexican resort
areas offer condominiums but few are offered in the Caribbean Islands. Whenever
possible look for one or two bedroom suites so Mom and Dad and the kids all have
a bit of privacy. Even a week can be a long time, and while it sounds possible
to all sleep in one room, in practice it can be stressful. Cruising
with your family is another option for a great holiday. It offers a variety of
activities and opportunities for time together. Exciting destinations such as
Alaska, Canada, New England and Europe offer unique travel experiences. Younger
guests (from ages 3-12 usually) can enjoy youth facilities and activities from
pizza parties, scavenger hunts, dances and deck parties. Teens quite often have
their own special lounge, internet access and private sundecks. The choices at
mealtime continue – everything from a casual bite poolside to formal five-course
affairs. And just for kids: a special menu featuring all their favourites from
